Pierre Bowring started as an abstract painter, in high school and college. His mother is an abstract painter and he has been around art his whole life. He found glass blowing at Virginia Commonwealth University. Interestingly, Bowring stopped blowing glass for almost 6 years after school. Becoming a chef was the dream, but after meeting his wife Jennaway and doing some soul searching. He found glass again at Penland School of Craft. Now Pierre, resides in East Chatham, NY where he and his family have a house and a studio at home. He considers his business a family run business, and form and color are the two most important things in his work.
