The Post Supply's favorite time of year is here and we love connecting with our friends and asking them their plans for gifting each holiday season.
This year we reached out to some of our favorite makers, chefs, writers, ceramicists, and artists. We love seeing the products they choose from our assortment and hearing what inspires them when they think about gifting. We hope you find some inspiration, too!
Read on below as we roll out guides from Dominique Ostuni, Chelito Villaflor, Co-Founders Katie Bowes & Hannah Haehn, Natasha Pickowicz, Kate Parfet, Julia Sherman, Zoe Lindquist, Jess Damuck and Naeda Deters.

"Gifting is such a profoundly personal act. I love gifting candles, bath products, and perfumes. I try to be as thoughtful as possible, considering the giftee's tastes and interests, with the intention of giving a gift of memory and ritual. I also love gifting items that have been created, handmade, and/or curated by people I personally know. It is very important for me to support friends, my community, and independent businesses. Typically, I let the object choose me, and it's usually something unique, humorous, or a bit odd that you can't just find anywhere. I also sometimes get cues when a friend mentions that they love something I'm wearing, like socks or a scent, so I pay attention to comments like that."

GIFT GUIDE: Dominique Ostuni
Dominique Ostuni is a multidisciplinary artist working out of her studio in Bowdoinham, ME. Dominique’s work explores the multi-faceted and intimate connections of everyday life, aiming to blur the traditional boundaries between painting, poetry, and ceramics.
"At the very heart of it, gifting is about connection. A celebration of friendship, community and the quiet joy of being known and knowing and loving someone. I am endlessly lucky to be surrounded by makers and crafters whose hands and hearts shape beautiful things, so it is only natural that I turn to them first when searching for well-made gifts. (The Post Supply, naturally, makes this very easy.)
I consider gifting a year round practice in observation and listening. It is important to notice. Tucking away the small details that reveal what someone loves and wants. I have an active note on my iPhone that I add things to next to all of my loved ones names when we are together and they take notice of something that they want or love. I peel from that during Christmastime and it makes shopping a breeze. I think of it almost to be a gentle sport of observation? Emotional anthropology? A research of love languages? Or maybe it is just really good listening. Did they long for an item they saw on my table scape when I invited them over for dinner? Got it. Did they love a mug that I made for a client? I will make them their very own version of that same mug.
For me, the best gifts always say: I was paying attention to you. I was listening to you and I really love you. What could be more meaningful than that?"

"Gifting is such a perfect opportunity to introduce someone you love to something you are obsessed with or something you think could make their life even just a little bit better. I like to think about where the recipient is in their life and how I can bring something additive to it - do they need some self-care? some sweetness? something fun they wouldn't buy themselves? And, I never forget a card from the heart (maybe the most important part?)."

Natasha Pickowicz is a California born, New York City–based chef, a four-time James Beard Foundation Award finalist, and the author of More Than Cake, which was a New York Times Best Cookbooks of 2023 as well as a 2023 James Beard Foundation finalist. Her follow up cookbook, Everyone Hot Pot, will be published by Artisan Books in January 2026.
"My approach to gift giving this season is simple: the gift must bring people together in some way, shape, or form. In my opinion, the simplest way to do this is through food, and the act of sharing a meal. I’m obsessed with Chinese hot pot, the communal and highly celebratory meal that asks guests to cook bite-sized morsels of food, à la minute, in a shared pot of broth that bubbles away in the center of the table. I’m so obsessed with hot pot that I wrote a cookbook about it! It’s called Everyone Hot Pot, and it’ll be out on January 27, just in time for my favorite gift-giving holiday of the year: the Lunar New Year! 2026 ushers in the year of the fire horse, and to that end I’m looking for energetic, adventurous, surprising presents that ignite easy conversations and deep laughter, and stoke the fires in our bellies (figuratively and literally). I’d set my dream hot pot table with every one of these beauties, from hand-blown glass pitchers in candy-colored hues to my favorite lucky red shoes to the perfect glasses for guzzling shots of baijiu, a hot pot (and partying starting) essential."

"I love gifts that actually live a life… books you keep reaching for, bags that get softer and a little slouchy in that perfect way. The things that pick up tiny scuffs and folds, gathering their own quiet stories over the years. They’re useful, they’re a little indulgent, and they only get better with time. The kind of gifts that end up sticking around… maybe even getting passed on one day, history and all."

"I don't know if this year I picked things that I want to gift or things that are on my own wish list! This has been a year of self-care, looking at and examining what is it that I bring into my life, what do I actually want, what do I actually like - letting go of old notions, beliefs and things that no longer serve me. I feel this holiday a spirit of open palms to give that gift to others as well, to recognize them for their importance and value in my life, but maybe also...to let them choose. The Post Supply Gift Cards for all?! And our new chocolate hat...of course."

GIFT GUIDE: Julia Sherman
Julia Sherman is a Brooklyn based author, photographer, and creator of Salad for President. She is the chef for the restaurant slated to open this Spring at New York City’s the New Museum.
"I like to find gifts that are really specific, ideally to the person, or if I don't know much about them, specific to me -- something I made, grew in my garden, or found in some off the beaten path spot on a trip. I keep a bin in my closet of gifts, so I can justify always shopping for special things that I don't necessarily need for myself (I imagine this is what leads some people to open cute shops like The Post Supply!). The other direction I like to go is the best version of something someone uses everyday -- the thing they consider in a shop, but put back on the shelf because it seems too indulgent to purchase for oneself. Fooey!"

GIFT GUIDE: Zoe Lindquist
Zoe Lindquist is a fiber and textile artist based in Maine, inspired by traditional handcraft techniques and the joy of making by hand. She leads local handcraft gatherings that offer space for creativity, connection, and community.
"Handmade gifts are always my first choice, whether it's an item I've made myself or purchased from another maker. Gifting someone a kit or the materials to craft something themselves is also really fun because you’re kind of giving both the experience of creating, as well as the finished product. My other go-to is gifting items I’ve personally tried and loved, so I know I can confidently recommend them."

Gift Guide: Jess Damuck
Jess Damuck is the bestselling cookbook author of Salad Freak, Health Nut, and Open Wide with Benny Blanco. She also has a monthly Substack called YOLK that shares recipes, playlists, and the soft sides of life.
"My gifting philosophy is trying to give someone something a little luxurious that they maybe wouldn't buy themselves-- I find that always makes me feel really special. Beautiful sensory details are very important to me in my home-- I always have a Flamingo Estate candle burning, and different incense for different times of the day. Buying someone a fragrance is quite intimate, but it's a gift I always love to receive, I know someone really thought a lot about me. Little indulgences translate to food too-- for me afternoon tea and some fancy chocolate is a perfect combination. I am obsessed with Mary Mcguill's jewelry and my friend recently gifted me this Petite pearl necklace and it felt like such a lovely surprise."
